Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is the standard interface for a high-performance connection between PCs and flat panel displays, digital CRT displays, projectors, and HDTV. Digital Video Interface Cables deliver the high-performance, high-bandwidth interface needed for video displays of today while leaving headroom for the products of tomorrow. These precision-engineered cables are fully compliant with the DVI standard defined by DDWG (Digital Display Working Group). The DVI connection provides enough bandwidth for resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 and is designed for high-speed digital use.
Key Features
- High speed and long distance transmission by optical system
- Fully compatible with DVI standard by DDWG
- The use of standard DVI-D plug (male)
- Either external or internal power supply is possible.
- (External power supply is optional. Automatic power switch is supplied.)
- R, G, B, Clock signal is transmitted by optical fiber
- DDC signal and 5 V power line is transmitted by copper line
- No EMI characteristics for use with medical instruments and airplane systems
What is DVI?
DVI, launched in 1999, is a purely digital interface that transmits visual data from a source device to a display. With DVI, there is no need for digital-to-analog or analog-to-digital conversion before, during or after transmission. This streamlined, straightforward process makes DVI superior to analog interfaces. Simply stated, an analog picture cannot be reproduced as accurately as a digital
one, particularly with long cable runs.
